Scope of these terms
These terms cover umbertogiacobbi.biz and applications and projects published by Umberto Giacobbi that refer to this page, including new releases. The listed examples do not limit their scope. Experiments and preliminary versions are part of ongoing research and development made public.
References to other products or services on the website do not automatically extend these terms to them. Distributed software is governed by the license in its repository; a separate written agreement governs any agreed professional services.
MIT license and third-party components
Each project declares its license in its repository or distributed package. Where code is licensed under MIT, that license permits use, including commercial use, modification and distribution under its terms, including retaining copyright and license notices.
The repository LICENSE file is the controlling text. These terms do not restrict rights granted by the MIT license. Dependencies, trademarks, images and other materials may have their own terms, stated in their notices; the code license does not automatically extend to every website item or third-party asset.
MIT License text ↗Software provided as is
The software is provided as is and as available, without express or implied warranties, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Fitness for a particular purpose, error-free operation, compatibility, continuity and specific results are not guaranteed.
Features, interfaces and availability of experimental versions may change or be discontinued. A roadmap or public issue is not a commitment to release features, fixes or updates by a particular date.
Support and direct agreements
Making the code available does not include technical assistance, maintenance, guaranteed updates, response times or service levels. Issues and contributions may be considered voluntarily, without an obligation to respond or resolve them.
Support, advisory work, integrations or dedicated development may be provided only under a direct written agreement defining scope, fees and responsibilities. To discuss this, write to hello@umbertogiacobbi.biz. This does not limit the ability to submit requests concerning your personal data.
Liability and informed use
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and under the project license, the authors and rights holders exclude liability for claims, damages or losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the software, including data loss, operational interruption or lost profits.
Nothing excludes liability or rights that the law does not permit to be excluded. Any obligations expressly accepted in a written agreement remain valid.
People using the software choose the configurations, permissions and data to process, verify results and maintain appropriate backups. AI-generated suggestions may be inaccurate: before running commands or using results, assess the effect in your context and the rights over the data involved.
External services and updates
Google, Microsoft, OpenAI and other provider accounts and APIs are subject to their own terms, costs, limits and notices. Stated compatibility does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by a provider.
These terms may be updated as the website and projects evolve. The date on this page identifies this version; page updates do not revoke rights already granted by open-source licenses. For questions about these terms, write to hello@umbertogiacobbi.biz.
